Crop Insurance

PIA supports a federal crop insurance program that provides needed insurance coverage to America’s farmers in a fair and equitable manner.

  • PIA is opposed to budget cuts in the Farm Bill coming at the expense of the crop insurance program.
  • PIA supports the State and Federal Rebating Enforcement Initiative initiated by the Risk Management Agency to combat illegal rebating.
  • PIA supports an updated information technology system for the federal crop insurance program.
  • PIA supports the Senate proposal to prohibit control-of-business, self-dealing, illegal inducements and other such abuses of insurance licenses or schemes that create the potential for agent conflict of interest or moral hazards for the federal crop insurance program.
