As a business owner, it is important to be aware of your many responsibilities. Aside from being in charge of running the company and the vision, you are also in charge of every last one of your employees. It is crucial to make sure your workers are content, comfortable and okay with their workload. It is also your full responsibility to keep employees motivated! A motivated team will be much more successful and productive than a somber set of employees.

Luckily, we know a thing or two about keeping your employees motivated in the office. Here are 10 ways to start inspiring today!

  1. Recognize achievements and a job well done. Recognition will go a long way in the world of business. Your employees deserve to feel appreciated for their efforts in the office.
  2. Create new job titles. As your company continues to grow, it may be time to appoint micromanagers within the departments. Promoting your employees with a better job title is a great way to show them that you can notice their hard work is paying off.
  3. Provide training. Keep your employees on top of their game by providing training and even safety seminars every once in a while.
  4. Provide a fun work environment. Is your office atmosphere too serious? Do not be afraid to lighten things up! A few jokes and games here and there will lift everyone’s spirits and motivate.
  5. Give on-the-spot praise. This is a great tactic to use during a team meeting. Be sure to point out a specific person if they have had a recent achievement.
  6. Hold an “Employee of the Month” contest. This is a great way to get the office involved in a contest and keep everyone working hard and towards a goal. Winner should get a gift card or small token of appreciation!
  7. Buy lunch for the office. This is a nice gesture that will show your employees that you care and will be there to take care of them. Food is always a great motivator!
  8. Improve company perks. When is the last time you updated or improved your employee benefits? Providing for your employees is a great way to keep them satisfied. By offering health, dental, disability and more, your employees will feel secure and taken care of. Be sure to look into your California business insurance to update and improve your perks!
  9. Set achievable goals. If you are setting unachievable goals, employees may get discouraged. It is important to set small milestones towards a greater goal.
  10. Say a simple “thank you”. A simple thank you will go a long way, especially coming from the boss.

Now that you have a good idea of what works, it is time to start motivating! Having an office full of inspired employees is sure to bring better results, more productivity and improve employee morale.
