Agent to Agent: Using YouTube to Your Agency's Advantage

As an agency owner, you understand that digital marketing is a huge initiative on your behalf. While you may be starting to feel comfortable on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, it is important to keep on learning. Have you tried to tackle YouTube yet?

YouTube is the king of all video sites. With over 1 billion unique user visits each month and over 100 hours of video being uploaded every minute, it is a good idea to become acquainted with this medium. There are a number of ways that your agency can take advantage of YouTube. As an agency owner myself, I understand that it is hard to come up with unique and interesting video ideas—Insurance is not the most interesting topic to consumers! However, there are ways, and I am here to share a few of my personal favorites with you.

Here are three video ideas to get you started:

  1. Question and Answer. Each week, have the camera rolling while you answer a frequently asked insurance-related question. This is a great way to educate your clientele and brand your agents as the experts.
  2. Insurance Tips. This video can be short and sweet—a minute or even less. Each week, find a new, interesting tip to share with viewers. For example: How to save money on auto insurance.
  3. Inside Looks. Is there something special going on in the office? Whether a birthday party or a new employee, give your viewers a quick look into the action!

Now that you have three ideas, you can have three videos up on your YouTube account by the end of the month! Once you get in the groove of recording and posting videos, you may be able to spark creativity on a regular basis. Your viewers and clients will enjoy having an “inside look” as well as the valuable information you bring to the table.

So what are you waiting for? Lights, camera, action!
