Massachusetts Commissioner of Insurance Joseph G. Murphy has been elected to the Executive Committee of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and named chair of the NAIC’s northeast chapter. As a member of the government relations council for 2012, he will work on developing the association’s legislative and regulatory agendas. "As Massachusetts continues to lead the nation in building an insurance marketplace that benefits consumers and fosters industry innovation, I look forward to sharing the good work of the Patrick-Murray Administration with my colleagues from around the country," Murphy said in a press release. He was appointed to the role of commissioner in February 2010 by Governor Deval Patrick.
