Senators to Introduce Bill to Secure ‘Internet of Things’

Bipartisan legislation to address vulnerabilities in computing devices embedded in everyday objects will be introduced.

Four Senators—two Republicans and two Democrats plan to introduce bipartisan legislation to address vulnerabilities in computing devices embedded in everyday objects known as the Internet of Things. Researchers suggest that between 20 billion and 30 billion devices are expected to be connected to the Internet by 2020, and a large percentage of them could be insecure. Companion legislation is expected in the House as well.
