The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency (USDA/RMA) has issued a bulletin addressing options for farm producers who purchased a Crop Hail Named Peril Policy from Crop Pro Insurance Services/Guide One Insurance Company.

Nebraska Insurance Director Bruce Ramge said about400 farmers have been impacted by the cancellation of crop production hail insurance by the Des Moines-area startup Crop Pro Insurance. These policies pay for actual crop losses caused by hail or wind damage that are not covered by federally subsidized multi-peril crop insurance policies, and the cancellations have occurred in the middle of the planting season.
