Agent to Agent: Top 5 Video Marketing Tips for Insurance Agents

In this age of dwindling attention spans, online videos are sometimes the best way to grab online visitors’ attention and drive them to your site. Video is great because many visitors simply don’t have time to sit and read through all the content about your insurance products and services. Putting a simple “What We Do” video on your homepage can go a long way to help keep visitors on your site and encourage them to become leads.

This is especially true if you have a niche agency that focuses solely on risk management solutions and business insurance, for example, though it works for more general agencies as well. Here are five tips to help you succeed:

  1. Keep it short: Your video should be no longer than five or six minutes, if you want your visitors to watch the whole thing. The shorter, the better. You want to condense what you do into memorable sound bites.
  2. Be clear and concise: Be very clear with the language you choose to use. Try not to use words your audience might not understand. Create an outline that includes every point you want to make about your services, so that you don’t feel the urge to ramble.
  3. Tell them how you’re different: Highlight what makes your insurance agency different from all the others. Don’t forget to include how your services will benefit your audience.
  4. Lighting: Make sure you have a decent lamp pointing toward your face, so the video looks more professional. You don’t need to spend a ton of money. Just make sure your face is illuminated.
  5. Include a call to action at the end: Tell your visitors what action you want them to take after watching the video. For example, you might tell them to call you or fill out a form for more information. Let them know that someone will contact them within 24 hours, but make sure you can back up any claims you make.

After you publish the video, preferably on YouTube, and imbed it onto your homepage you should consider putting it on other video sharing sites in order to drive new traffic to your website. Traffic Geyser is another great way to market your video and drive traffic to your site.
