NAIC Honors State Insurance Regulators with Awards

The NAIC recognized two state regulators.
November 20, 2018

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) recognized two state regulators who have made significant contributions to state-based insurance regulation during the opening session of the NAIC’s Fall 2018 National Meeting in San Francisco. Arkansas’ Mel Anderson and Florida’s Susanne Murphy received the Robert Dineen Award for Outstanding Service and Contribution to the State Regulation of Insurance.

Anderson has provided leadership on several NAIC committees and working groups, most notably serving as chair of the International Solvency and Accounting Standards Working Group, which promoted dialogue between state insurance regulators and their international counterparts. Murphy has advocated for the expansion of the private flood insurance market in Florida. She has also provided guidance to national partners, allowing other states to more efficiently implement private flood insurance initiatives.
