Colorado Offers Online Insurance Licensing Exams

Announcement by Insurance Commissioner Michael Conway.
August 5, 2020

The Colorado Division of Insurance announced that insurance licensing exams are now offered online. “In this day and age, it’s vital to make everything we do as safe as possible for Coloradans,” said Insurance Commissioner Michael Conway. “Offering our licensing exams online makes sense for a number of reasons. But with COVID-19 still very much a concern, safety is at the top of that list.” All insurance licensing exams offered at test centers will be available online, including those for accident and health, casualty, credit, crop hail adjuster, life, personal lines, property, public insurance adjuster, surplus lines, and title.

Candidates need their own computer with a webcam, a reliable internet connection, and quiet room. They are monitored by a proctor through the webcam and microphone to guard the integrity of the exam. Exams are still available at testing sites, but to maintain social distancing, these sites operate at 50 percent capacity.
