HARTFORD, Conn. - Travelers (NYSE: TRV)  recently recognized the top client representatives at its independent agencies in Maine for their hard work and dedication by presenting them with the High Achiever Award at the Samoset Resort on the Ocean in Rockport, Maine.

"All of the recipients are outstanding performers who contribute every day to the success of their agency and to the high level of personalized service we provide for our customers," said Skip Daigle, Travelers vice president, Agency Development. "We appreciate all the hard work and effort that they put forth to make the partnership between Travelers and their agencies a success."

The Travelers High Achiever program, the nation's first non-owner agency program to recognize individuals across all lines of business, is designed to acknowledge the client representatives who contribute to business growth and high levels of customer service at their agencies. The High Achiever program in Maine is a pilot for a possible national program to recognize client representatives from all lines of business.

This year's honorees were: Dottie Chalmers of Chalmers Insurance Agency in Bridgton, Lorraine Michals of Clark Associates in Portland, Debbie Pelkey of the Cross Agency in Bangor, Linda Spear of the Cross Agency in Lewiston and Gail Turner of HRH of Northern New England in Auburn.

To be eligible for this award, individuals must have at least two years of experience at their agency, three years in the insurance industry, demonstrate leadership skills and participate in industry classes and seminars. Each High Achiever was selected by their Travelers business line sales executive based on their experience, product knowledge, quality of work, customer service skills and team dynamics.

"I'm honored to be given the distinguished recognition of a Travelers High Achiever," said Gail Turner of HRH of Northern New England. "I'm stunned at not only the nomination, but the extent Travelers went to make the High Achievers realize how significant the honor is. No other carrier has ever done anything like this for the client representatives."
